Nowadays, information technology has been widely applied in all fields including education. For foreign language teaching and learning, IT applications have opened up great prospects in changing teaching forms and methods, contributing to improving training quality. In recent years, English Language lecturers at the Faculty of Languages and Cultures of Thainguyen University of Sciences have actively and proactively applied IT in their teaching, maximizing students’ engagement and performance. This paper is aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of applying information technology in learning and teaching English to English majored students and draw out some recommendations to enhance this process.
