To develop students’ competency in practical teaching in general, and specifically in Biology and Genetics at Tra Vinh University, meeting the learning outcomes requires instructors to engage in researching and innovating teaching methods. The article proposes organizing practical teaching sessions with criteria for assessing healthcare students’ practical skills. The results of Establishing a suitable evaluation criteria table and developing students’ capabilities include self-learning ability, research skill, practical skill, presentation, collaboration, communication, problem solving... contributing to enhancing the quality of education.
