Bài viết bước đầu đánh giá bức tranh hiện trạng phát triển nông nghiệp hữu cơ (NNHC) ở Trung du và miền núi phía Bắc (TD&MNPB) - Vùng có nhiều tiềm năng, lợi thế cho phát triển NNHC trong cả nước dựa trên sự phong phú về tài nguyên đất, nước, khí hậu, các chính sách hỗ trợ phát triển NNHC của Đảng và Nhà nước. Các cấp lãnh đạo tại các địa phương luôn ủng hộ nỗ lực phát triển một nền nông nghiệp bền vững và thân thiện với môi trường, nâng cao năng suất, sức cạnh tranh của sản phẩm NNHC người dân trong vùng ngày càng có nhiều kinh nghiệm, nhiệt tình, có nhận thức và mong muốn chuyển đổi sang sản xuất NNHC để đáp ứng nhu cầu được tiếp cận với thực phẩm sạch, an toàn. Tuy nhiên, hiện nay phát triển NNHC vùng TD&MNPB còn gặp phải một số khó khăn, rào cản nhất định liên quan đến nguồn vốn đầu tư hạn chế quy trình sản xuất nghiêm ngặt quy mô sản xuất theo vùng chất lượng sản phẩm tiếp cận thị trường tiêu thụ phân bón...
