Combining four primary skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening plays an important role in teaching Vietnamese to elementary school students. According to the 2018 General Education Curriculum, the issue of teaching writing essays describing animals and plants, as well as using writing techniques such as personification and adjectives to reflect the object’s characteristics still poses many challenges for teachers. To develop students’ skills in writing descriptive essays about plants, animals, and trees, teachers need to choose appropriate teaching methods. These methods must be based on teaching strategies for an Optimistic Classroom that suit the needs and interests of students.
