Of all the methods of teaching foreign languages, the communicative method is the best approach in developing listening and speaking skills of university students. However, when using this method in teaching our graduate students, we have a lot of difficulties. Obviously, such difficulties, communicative method cannot be used effectively in teaching listening and speaking skills to the target students. Their ability of speaking and listening is very limited, in other words, theirs cannot satisfy the needs of our modern time. Some of our recommendations to both authorities and teachers are suggested to improve the teaching and learning of English in general and listening and speaking skills in specific.
