Since the turn of the 21st century, there have been significant changes in the teaching and learning of English as a second language. Specifically, greater emphasis has been placed on equipping learners with essential skills such as critical thinking, creativity and collaboration instead of merely improving their language proficiency. Hence, in recent years, students in the Faculty of English Language Teacher Education have had the opportunity to take new courses with new forms of assessment, one of which is English for Tourism. The final project in this course is aimed to develop numerous soft skills of students and has been positively evaluated by teachers. However, there has been hardly any research investigating students’ opinions on this project. Therefore, this research is conducted with a view to finding out second-year students’ opinions about the final project in the course English for Tourism.
