Learning motivation plays a crucial role in the process of learning and teaching. Learning motivation plays a significant role in students’ learning efforts. It serves as a guiding force and a source of motivation for students in their learning. However, a significant number of Chinese language students in higher education, including those at Hanoi Metropolitan University, struggle with unclear learning motivation. To address this issue, a questionnaire survey was conducted to collect data on the learning motivation of Chinese language students. Through careful statistical analysis of the gathered data, the underlying causes of this problem were identified. Subsequently, based on the actual state of learning motivation, effective learning and teaching strategies will be devised to cultivate and stimulate the motivation of Chinese language students.
