Pre-master’s and pre-doctoral programs are quite popular in developed countries around the world. The program builds an important foundation of knowledge and skills to help students be accepted into prestigious graduate programs around the world. In Vietnam, pre-master’s and pre-doctoral programs are often understood as additional knowledge courses for those applying to graduate school. This study aims to explore the factors that determine the intention to choose pre-master’s and pre-doctoral programs in Business Administration of students at Hong Bang International University. The study used mixed research methods, including personal interviews with 5 graduate students and a survey of 134 undergraduate students. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, exploratory factor and regression analyses. Research results help university administrators develop appropriate pre-master’s and pre-doctoral programs.
