Để hiện thực hóa vững chắc những mục tiêu phát triển kinh tế - xã hội giai đoạn 2021 - 2025 và tầm nhìn đến năm 2030 và năm 2045, Đại hội XIII của Đảng Cộng sản Việt Nam khẳng định cần có những bước phát triển mang tính đột phá, trước hết là tiếp tục đổi mới mạnh mẽ tư duy. Bài viết luận giải vai trò quan trọng của tư duy đối với sự phát triển xã hội, thể hiện ở chỗ muốn giải quyết hiệu quả những vấn đề mới do thực tiễn đặt ra, con người cần phải có tư duy mới, khách quan và khoa học. The paper explains the important role of thinking in social development, which shows that in order to effectively solve new issues posed by reality, man needs to have new, objective and scientific thinking. It also analyses the basic contents of the renovation of thinking in order to create the driving force for the building of socialism in Vietnam in the current context, namely firstly, renovating the thinking with breakthroughs
secondly, promoting the creative thinking

fourthly, renovating the critical thinking
fifthly, renovating the theoretical thinking
and sixthly, overcoming the mindset of caring only about [the development in] one's own term of office.
