Speaking skills are considered one of the necessary and important skills in the foreign language learning process. Kayi (2006) once asserted that “Speaking skills are a fundamental part of the process of teaching and learning a second language”. However, reality shows that most learners tend to be shy, confused and even afraid when practicing speaking skills. This comes from the fact that learners still pronounce words wrongly, speak without intonation or emphasize the stress in their sentences. Gradually, learners become less confident and motivated to communicate in English. Through the process of teaching English to non-major students, the author has tried movie-dubbing activity in teaching speaking skills and found that this is one of the effective methods to improve speaking skills for English learners.
