Learning autonomy plays an decisive part in learners ’ outcome and works as a fundamental element for lifelong learning. Also, some modules related to language skills require higher autonomy, especially writing skill. During the process of teaching this skill, the writer found that the majority of freshmen of English studies at Bac Lieu Uniersity (BLU) were not limited in learning, and the main reson of which is their ineffective self- study ability. Accordingly, the article mentions some factors affecting 46 English- majored freshmen’s autonomy at BLU through Writing B1 class. The writer also sugests some measures for teaching and learning to enhance Students’ autonomy.
