Improving students’ motivation for English language learning has attracted much attention from educators worldwide. This study was conducted to investigate students’ levels of motivation in English learning by D17, and D18 students, and then find out the influential factors and suggest some solutions to solve the problems. The study implemented the investigation through interviews and questionnaires. It involved 227 D17 and D18 students at Electric Power University. The findings showed that the lecturer was considered the most influential factor in enhancing student’s motivation. Moreover, their teaching methods were placed at the highest position on the motivation-building scale. Lecturers’ enthusiasm was also taken as the most effective solution to improve student’s motivation to learn English.
