In the paper, CuZIF-11 materials with different Cu:Zn molar ratios were synthesized from zinc acetate, copper acetate, and benzimidazole at room temperature. The obtained materials were characterized using Xray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersion spectroscopy X-ray (EDX), Fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and nitrogen adsorption-desorption isotherm (BET). The results showed that copper ions dispersed into the structure of the materials. The morphology of the material was disordered. It did not have the dodecahedral shape of ZIF-11. The specific surface area of the materials decreases with increasing Cu2+ content. However, their specific surface areas remained very high. Initial research indicated that CuZIF-11 materials significantly improved the adsorption capacity of rhodamine B compared to that of ZIF-11. The adsorption capacity increased more than 4 times. The adsorption process followed pseudo-second-order kinetics.
