English writing skills are among the most crucial aspects of foreign language learning. However, many students continue to face difficulties and fail to achieve their desired outcomes. This paper proposes some student-centered scaffolding methods, enabling teachers to develop students’ self-learning ability by using scaffolding techniques such as: visual aids
providing sentence frames
breaking down tasks
providing sample texts
using collaborative group activities. In addition, the paper also outlines a step-by-step essay writing process, providing students with a clear framework for organizing their thoughts and ideas.
