In this study, carbon aerogel (CA) from sugarcane bagasse, TiO2 and carbon nanotube were fabricated to nanocomposite to be used as electrode for desalination equipment using CDI capacitive technology. CA/TiO2/CNTs nanocomposite material has advantages due to inheriting properties from CA materials such as high surface area, electrochemical stability of TiO2 and high electrical conductivity of CNTs. The CA/TiO2-30/CNTs-5 nanocomposite has outstanding capacitance reaching 167 F/g and high charge-discharge durability of 1000 cycles. Investigating the desalination ability, the CA/TiO2-30/CNTs-5 electrode achieved a high salt adsorption capacity value of ~21 mg/g with a fast salt adsorption rate at a potential of 1.4 V.
