Listening skills play an important role in learning English and affect the ability to understand, speak, read and write. In the process of learning to listen, especially in self-learning, meta-cognive thinking strategies play an important role, helping learners organize, manage, evaluate and adjust their own learning process. In order to effectively apply the meta-cognition strategy to improve the listening skills of students at the current Academy of Politics, the article proposes specific activities in five stages of the meta-cognition strategy for students to apply in the process of self-study.
