Grassroots healthcare plays an important role in our country's healthcare system. This is the direct medical line, closest to the people and is considered the foundation and backbone of primary health care for the people. According to national health statistics, 45% of health spending is spent on inpatient care, while this proportion in other developing countries is only about 30%. Another study found that about 30% of inpatient cases could be avoided and treated at the primary health care level. In order for grassroots healthcare to continue to promote its role in the new situation, it is necessary to further strengthen Vietnam's grassroots healthcare system and focus on investing in the grassroots healthcare system, and at the same time need to have policies new issue of ensuring funding for the operation of the grassroots health system so that the grassroots healthcare system can fulfill the role of "gatekeeper" of primary health care.Y tế cơ sở có vai trò quan trọng trong hệ thống y tế của nước ta. Đây là tuyến y tế trực tiếp, gần dân nhất và được đánh giá là nền tảng, là xương sống trong chăm sóc sức khoẻ ban đầu cho nhân dân. Theo thống kê về y tế quốc gia, 45% chi tiêu y tế là chi tiêu cho chăm sóc cho bệnh nhân nội trú, trong khi tỷ lệ này ở các nước đang phát triển khác chỉ khoảng 30%. Trong một nghiên cứu khác cho thấy, khoảng 30% trường hợp điều trị nội trú có thể tránh được và được điều trị ở cấp y tế cơ sở. Để y tế cơ sở tiếp tục phát huy vai trò trong tình hình mới, cần tăng cường hệ thống y tế cơ sở của Việt Nam hơn nữa và cần tập trung đầu tư vào hệ thống y tế cơ sở, đồng thời cần có chính sách mới về đảm bảo kinh phí cho hoạt động của hệ thống y tế cơ sở để y tế cơ sở làm tròn vai “người gác cổng” chăm sóc sức khỏe ban đầu.
