This study explores and analyzes sustainability practices at universities participating in the Qualenv project (Changing the Climate: Assuring the Quality of Environmental Strategies in Latin-American Higher Education), funded by the Erasmus+ Program. Based on a qualitative approach, this research investigates sustainability initiatives in the categories of Education, Research, Outreach, and Management. Data was collected mainly from the Qualenv Handbook, which documents the sustainability actions of the 14 partner universities, and from participant observation by one of the researchers, a project team member. The qualitative content analysis carried out using NVivo 12 software, allowed the practices identified to be categorized and organized into 21 emerging subcategories in the Education, Research, Outreach, and Management dimensions. These categories elaborate on specific subthemes within the studied dimensions, such as "Sustainable Development Training" in Education and "Sustainable Operations" in Management. The results revealed that universities develop sustainable practices in both their core and support activities
this demonstrates a holistic approach towards sustainability. The emerging categories from this study can provide insights for other universities wishing to benchmark and implement sustainability-oriented actions.
