In recent years, with the remarkable advancement of information technology, distance learning has increasingly favorable conditions for development. Alongside the outstanding benefits it brings, learners also face numerous challenges. This paper aims to present some obstacles in distance learning and suggest relevant implications. The study involves 50 English-majored students who are following the Hue University’s College of Foreign Languages. Through analyzing qualitative data combined with quantitative results obtained from surveys and interviews, the research has identified fundamental challenges related to adult learners’ distance education. Consequently, it proposes measures to enhance the effectiveness of this educational approach.
