Self-study is an inherent human attribute and plays an important role in determining each person’s learning outcomes, level of knowledge, personality qualities and abilities. Therefore, improving self-study capacity for students in general and students in boarding schools at schools is necessary and focused, including at the Thai Nguyen University of Education. Using theoretical research methods and using observation and interview tools, the team of authors conducted research to clarify the current status of students’ self-study capacity and the work of improving self-study capacity for students in the area boarding school at the Thai Nguyen University of Education. On that basis, the authors propose solutions to improve self-study capacity for students in the school’s boarding areas.
