The objective of this study was to determine values of some basic anthropometric measurements and to evaluate the nutritional status of Hoan Kiem district adults based on Body Mass Index (BMI). Subject and method: 3080 adults (1374 males and 1706 females) were carried out research according to cross - sectional study. The anthropometric measurements were gathered including: stature, sitting height, head circumference, thoracic circumference.v.v... Evaluation of the nutritional status was based on Body Mass Index (BMI) of WHO and of Asian adults. The result showed that: The average height of Hoan Kiem district adults (age group 30-39) was 169.18cm for men and 155.33cm for women. The height both sexes increased continuosly following age and scored maximumly at age of 24 for males: 170.87cm and 21 for females: 156.68cm. The average height of Hoan Kiem district men was higher than the one of My Duc and Ba Vi districts as order: 5.16cm and 5.56cm (20-24 age group)with significant difference (p 0.001). Acording to the nutritional classification of WHO, the utritional status of Hoan Kiem distrid: adults was at normal in all age groups. However, after the scale for Asian adults the age group: 40-49 and 60 for males
50-59 and 60 for females, it was at the overweight level (BMI 23).
