Therefore, when teaching, teachers need to learn and flexibly apply other active teaching techniques to develop students’ thinking. There are many teaching techniques that have been widely used in teaching descriptive writing such as mind map technique, revelation technique, puzzle piece technique, etc. But within the scope of this article, we present and illustrates two active teaching techniques: station-based learning technique and brainstorming technique that have been applied effectively in the step of finding and developing ideas in the process of writing a text describing an animal.
