Cross-sectional repeated intervention study, to evaluate the effect of iron fortified fish sauce (IFFS) on non-anemic woman at age from 20 to 49 year, who wasn't suffered from acute or chronic diseases in Thai Binh and Binh Duong, IFFS has been bought and used daily at home. After 6 month of intervention with 60 percent of coverage, the prevalence of anemia, iron deficiency has decreased statistically (p 0.001). The improvement on hemoglobin concentration and anemia prevalence between 2 groups of age (from 20 to 35 and from 36 to 49) and between workers and farmers has no difference, but prevalence of iron deficiency has significantly difference (p 0.05). Thus, with 60 percent coverage, using IFFS is effective in control of iron deficiency anemia. Therefore, further researches should be needed to find out another causes of iron deficiency anemia.
