Aim: Study of urinary tract infections (UTI) in children and antibiotic resistance of bacteria at Uronephrology department of National Hospital of Pediatrics.Methods: Describe retrospective study of 56 patients with UTI from 1/1/2008 to 31/12/2009. Results: Half of patients with UTI had positive uroculture results. The most frequent bacteria was E.coli (80.9 percent). E. coli had high antibiotic resistance with 3rd generation cephalosporin (Cefoperazone (52.7 percent) and Cetriaxone (43.6 percent), Cotrimoxazole (74.1 percent) that is using in current protocol to treat UTI in Vietnam. Conclusion: The most common bacteria of UTI is E. coli, almost of them was antibiotics resistance, specialy these antibiotics have been the first choice in treatment and prevention protocol in children with UTI today. The launch of a new regimen is a necessary tasks.
