From early May 2011, many cases of nasolacrimal duct obstruction have been performed with Transcanalicular Diode laser - Assisted Dacryocystorhinostomy for treatment of epiphora due to chnonic dacryocystitis in Eye hospital of Ho chi minh city. Laser diode 810 nm with high power is used. A 300um semirigid laser fiberoptic is easily inserted at the lower punctum in the canaliculus up to the level of the lacrimal sac contacting with lacrimal bone. From this position, laser osteotomy is done through the lacrimal bone and nasal mucosa into the middle meatus. The high - resolution fiber-optic endoscope and the screen help the laser beam to make the fistula exactly with a very little damage of tissues around. The advantages of the endolaser DCR technique are: a short time, no pain, no bleeding, etc. and no scar on face. Patients are satisfied.
