In teaching English, writing skill is always considered as a big challenge for both teachers and students because in order to teach and learn this skill well, both teachers and students must have extensive knowledge of life and certain knowledge of language. To have a good writing requires students to go through many steps and invest a lot of time and also requires a high level of self-study
therefore, when learning to write English, students often feel bored and pressured. That is the reason why the author wants to apply the situational teaching method to teaching English Writing skill for non-language major students of Tien Giang University to promote students’ self-study. After one semester of application, the results showed that the majority of students had a positive attitude towards this writing method. This has opened up a new direction in teaching English Writing skills to students of the school.
