This study was conducted to evaluate the use of Voluntary Counseling and Testing HIV (VCT) service and find out the factors affecting to reach VCT of men who have sex with men (MSM) in Ho Chi Minh city (HCMc). Two-stage study was implemented in September, 2011 to interview 901 MSMs. The results showed that the average of same sex time in MSMs was 7.5 years (range: 0.1-36.3). The proportions of MSMs most frequently meet the same sex partner in coffee bar, street/park and restaurant/beer bar were 35.2 percent, 32.4 percent, and 10.6 percent, respectively. The proportion of MSMs in HCMc using drug was 11.3 percent. The proportion of MSMs visiting VCT in the past 6 months was 35.2 percent. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the time having the same sex partner more than 3 years (OR=1.78
95 percent CI: 1.19-2.66) was a factor affecting the use of VCT in the past 6 months among MSMs in HCMc. Intervention prevention. activities in MSM population in HCMc need to be more concrete and large coverage in order to increase the knowledge of MSM visiting VCT.
