The wood oil of Glyptostrobus pensilis (Staunt.) K. Koch collected from Dak Lak province, Vietnam, in May 2008 was isolated by steam distillation and analyzed by Capillary GC/MS. Forty-one components have been identified accounting more than 84.04 percent of the oil yield. The major constituents of this oil are a-pinene (18.92 percent), limonene (23.89 percent), beat-caryophyllene (6.13 percent), caryophyllene oxide (5.89 percent) and bornyl acetate (5.16 percent). Less predominant constituents included germacrene D (3.55 percent), beta-elemene (2.48 percent), beta-myrcene (2.19 percent), beta-selinene (2.10 percent), beta-pinene (1.19 percent), alpha-amorphene (1.17 percent) and camphene (1.14 percent).
