Since the discovery of the giant magnetoresistance (GMR) and giant magnetoimpedance (GMI) effects just over a decade ago, a lot of studies on these phenomena have been carried due to their importance in high tech applications, particularly in magnetic sensors. Among materials that have GMR and GMI effects, magnetic layered structures are among the most interesting material configuration. One of the most important methods for producing that structure is electrodeposition (ED). This article aims to demonstrate the possibilities to producing magnetic layered materials with GMI and GMI effects by electrodeposition technique through two systems: (i) nanosized Co/Cu multilayer with GMR effect and (ii) multilayered microwires (or composite wire) Cu/CoP and Cu/NiFe with GMI effect.
