A cross-sectional study on human Fascioliasis was conducted at Nghia Son commune,Tu Nghia district and Tinh Ky commune, Son Tinh district, Quang Ngai province from June to August in 2009. The result showed that the overall prevalence of human fascioliasis was 10.36 percent (10.52 percent and 10.24 percent respectively), in which the infection rate of fasciola by stool examination was 0.35 percent (0.17 percent and 0.47 percent respectively)
by ELISA was 10.2 percent (10.32 percent and 10.1 percent respectively). The difference in fascioliasis infection between people in mountainous and coastal regions was not statistically significant. The infection rate of fascioliasis in women was twice as high as in men and this difference was statistically significant with p 0.05. There were 109 households infected with liver flukes, in which some families included 2 to 3 infected persons. Famers were the people who got the high infection with the rate of 29.2 percent.
