This article focuses on the characteristics of the Muong folk literature surveyed in the two provinces of Thanh Hoa (where there is an acculturation between the Muong's and the Thai's culture) and Hoa Binh (where the Muong cultural features are dominant). The folk literature of the Muong ethnic group is unified in genres (folk songthe so-called "xuong", witchcraft, historical poetry, and folk music), but is diversified in words, structural scale, and some specific motips. Each region has its own specific folk literature in developing its genres and structures that express an importance of the natural, socio-economic and cultural circumstances
that leads to and creates differentiation within the regions. Over time, this process has created interesting conditions as the Muong culture spread out and mixed with other ethnic groups living nearby.
