Objective: To describe the state of knowledge and practice of contraceptive methods by women to the abortion of unwanted in National Hospital of OB-GYN from 03/2009 to 07/2009. Materials and Methods: Sample size: 460 women to an abortion
Methods: cross-sectional descriptive study. Results: percentage of abortion women knowning at least one of contraceptive methode was 99.6 percent, male condom is best known contraception: 98 percent
91.5 percent women know the right time to use contraceptive methods in the normal menstrual cycles, 17.9 percent after childbirth, 22.3 percent after abortion. Practice: 78.5 percent women had used contraception in the past, 41 percent used in the next previous mense before abortion. Conclusion: common perception of contraception was high, highly perception and practice were low.
