The effects of wool dust and cotton dust on respiratory tract was documented by many authors. Occupational Allergic Rhinitis (OAR) is a disease often seen in the factories with high concentration of processing dust as cotton, wool, flax textile. To assess the risk OAR with cotton dust in Hang Kenh carpet company of Haiphong city, a preliminary study was carried out on all 780 workers. Symptoms were assessed by a questionnaire of allergic history and clinical symptoms. Results Prevalence of OAR with cotton dust in Hang Kenh Carpet Company if Hai Phong was: 32.56 percent, Mainly in ages of 30-50. The mills of direct process of production got OAR rate 50 percent. Relative risk of the cases suffering from OAR between the direct productive group and indirect was 2.02 times. Of mahor clinical symptoms: Subjective: Itching in the nose: 98.82 percent Sneezing: 97.24 percent , Nasal discharge: 97.24 percent Nasal obstruction: 77.56 percent Nasal mucous membrane pale and edema: 92.91 percent Hypertrophied inferior turbinate: 60.24 percent.
