Objective of the study was to assess disease model in association with mutiple diseases in elderly diabetic patients. The results indicated that the average age was 67.0 + or - 8.6, and age group from 60 to 69 was the most common, accounted for 54.3 percent. The mean waist index was 87.4 + or - 7.4cm, the rate of patients with large waist circumstance was 67.8 percent. The proportion of patients concurrently suffering from hypertension was 84.4 percent, lipid disorder was 57.0 percent, stroke was 5.9 percent, gout was 3.0 percent. The group of diabetic patients for 4-10 years was the most common (42 percent). A majority of patients was at the educational level of secondary school (58.3 percent). In conclusion, diabetes was common disease in elderly patients and often developed in situation of multiple diseases, especially related with lipid disorder and hypertension. The high waist index and lower educational level study were common risk factors associated with diabetes in older patients.
