Objective of the study was to describe clinical, paraclinical characteristics and value of TB test in the diagnosis of TB pleural effusion. The result indicated that 35 percent of patients under 30, ratio male/female is 1.71/1. Clinical characteristics common are chest pain (85 percent), cough (73.4 percent), dyspnea (71.7 percent). Result of TB test in pleural liquid: AFB was negative in all of specimens, PCR-BK was positive in 11.7 percent, MGIT was positive in 3.3 percent. In conclusion, sensitivity of TB tests (AFB, PCR-BK, MGIT) in tubeculous pleural effusion was low.
