In this paper, the authors investigate an application of the Meshfree RBF (Radial Basis Function) Method in the two-dimensional (2-D) thennal field problem in engineering defined by the 2-D PoissonLaplace equation. In particular, the paper deal with choosing 'optimal' parameters of this method such as the RBF types, distribution and number of collocation points, and shape parameter E for getting the more accurate and faster solutions. To test the accuracy and CPU time of proposed method, the authors compare results with those of FEM. With advantages of smaller emJr and CPU time, the proposed method can be applied to solving any science and engineering problems that is defined by the form of 2-D Poisson-Laplace equation.
