Aim: To evaluate the health related quality of life (HRQOL) of children with acute lymphoma leukemia (ALL). Patients and Method: Children with ALL have been treated for 27.07 + or - 12.03 months (n = 36. mean age: 11.12 + or - 2.58 ) and healthy controls (n = 74, mean age: 11. 02 + or - 2.23) were assessed through a cross-sectional approach using the Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory (Peds QL) 4.0. Results: The children treated for ALL reported on significantly lower HRQOL of physical, social and school area than the healthy children (P 0.001). The HRQOL of emotional area in children with ALL as the same as healthy children (P 0.05). Conclusions: The Peds QL 4.0 was a useful intrument for measuring Quality of Life in children with ALL. Significant diffirences found between children treated for ALL and their control group for HRQOL may indicate that complex illness - treatment experience can make children more vulnerable and difficult in many areas. The findings highlight the importance of repeated evaluation of health - related quality of life in children with ALL at different periods and long time.
