Innovating teaching methods to form and develop students’ abilities is one of the important goals of the teaching process in general and reading comprehension in particular. Especially teaching reading comprehension of science fiction stories - a new genre introduced into the Middle School Literature curriculum. Science fiction stories, with their unique intersection between soaring imagination and scientific and technological knowledge, are a fascinating literary genre. In order to improve students’ reading comprehension and critical thinking abilities when approaching this genre, designing and using a system of reading comprehension questions is extremely necessary. The report proposes a process for building and using a question system in teaching science fiction stories, contributing to improving the effectiveness of Literature teaching in high schools.
