Currently, volleyball is a sport that is developing in many countries in the region, and Vietnam, this sport is also continuously growing and is considered a key industry. Indoor volleyball is the most popular form of volleyball today and is also the first volleyball discipline to be officially competed in the Olympics. Volleyball is a sport loved and practiced by many people. Regular volleyball training helps participants achieve good health, a flexible and balanced body, a relaxed spirit, and strong willpower. However, to practice and compete in volleyball, athletes must have basic passing techniques as well as develop their skills and techniques in movement.Through my practical experience teaching volleyball to students at Dong Thap University, I have observed that their physical fitness is quite limited and does not meet the requirements of the course. Therefore, it is essential to develop a scientific and appropriate exercise program aimed at improving physical fitness in volleyball for these students. Based on the reasons mentioned above, we started to research on: “Evaluating the effectiveness of certain exercises to develop physical fitness for non-specialized students choosing volleyball at Dong Thap University.”
