Objectives: To investigate the feasibility and safety of video - assisted minimally invasive surgical methods in cardiac surgery. Patients and methods: From 5/2013 to 8/2013:28 conscutive patients has been operated. Among of them: 22 patient had been ASD closure, 5 mitral valve. replacement, 1 coronary artery bypass graft with video - assisted minimally invasive surgical methods. Results: 21 ASD patients, 5mitraI valve replacement, 1 coronary artery bypass graft were successful with the method. Only 1 ASD case was opened more large incision to re-closured ASD. No patient required conversion to sternotomy. There didn't have any hospital death, no majors complication. Conclusion: video - assisted minimally invasive surgical methods in cardiac surgery is feasible and safe. It can be performed in routin under our present condition.
