Anemia and zinc deficiency is still a important public health problem in the developing countries, especially in Southeast Asia The cross-sectional study, to investigate the prevalence of anemia and zinc deficiency and determine some related factors among children under 5 year old at Lac Son district, Hoa Binh province. The results. prevalence of anemia among children (38.6 percent) was very hight and close to the high level of public health significance
prevalenc of zinc deficiency (85.8 percent) was classified in severe level of public health significance. There were significance relations between anemia and stunting
vitamin A deficiency with zinc deficiency. Therefore, the prevention of anemia and zinc deficiency should be continously accelerated by the appropriate approach to reduce prevalence of micronutrient deficiency and anemia in children under 5 years in the coming years.
