Inspection activity is a vital function of state management. Especially, for the food safety management, inspection activIties play very important role as it will be related to the safety assurance of products that impact directly on human health. The study was conducted in 30 provinces represent different ecological regions of Vietnam, with the number of 1,301 people were interviewed, including the leaders, inspectors, owners of food production and trade. The main results are as follows: Most inspectors understand the bqsic contents of food safety inspection over 80 percent. Still some work to be content to do when preparing for an inspection that inspectors practice at such low are as planning (72.7 percent), informing inspected establishments prepare inspection reports outline (73.2 percent). End of an inspection, some content such as notice of termination of the inspection at inspected establishment, sanctioning of administrative violations
