Background: To find out some elements related diagnosed with pterygium. Patients: 63 patients diagnosed pterygium and treated at of ophthalmologic of No.103 Hospital and Institute of Aviation Medicine 7/2008 to 4/2009 (resident in hospital). Method: Cross-Observation study. Conclusion: The rate of the degrees (I, II, III, IV) of pterygium similar when compared to each other and pterygium encounter rate in men just as the pterygium encounter rate in women. The rate of pterygium with the locations (right eye or left eye or both eyes) is not different. Pterygium in right eye (27.0 percent), pterygium in left eye (33.3 percent) and pterygium in both eyes - bilateral pterygium (39.7 percent). Pterygium in the inner comer of the eye (in the palpebral fissure of nasal side) is the majority (90,9 percent), only 9.1 percent were double pterygium. The difference was statistically significant (p 0.001). Pterygium primarily seen in fibrous morphology fibrovascular conjunctival (87.9 percent), only 9.1 percent were vascular pterygium. Percentage of eyes with the combination of various diseases with pterygium is relatively large.
