There are few epidemiological studies on spontaneous abortion (SA). The objective is to describe the epidemiological characteristics of the proportion of SA in Phu Cat. This paper describes the 6.600 women aged 15 - 49 who had been pregnant in Phu Cat district at the time in 1/2012. Data analysis by using univariate, multivariate logistic regression models. The proportion of maternal SA is 9,58 percent with the growing trend. 12.95 percent maternal SA occurs in mountainous areas (OR = 1.51, CI 95 percent: 1.21 - 1.89), 15.23 percent in the Phu Cat Airport (OR = 1.98, CI 95 percent: 1.49 - 2.62). OR for maternal SA is 1 with CI 95 percent 1 at first pregnancy age group of 20 - 34
for family history of adverse reproductive outcomes is 1.55, CI:95 percent 1.3 - 1.84
for SA history at first pregnancy is 4.89, CI 95 percent: 3.55 - 6.66
for exposure to cigarette smoke is 1.27, CI 95 percent: 1.07 - 1.51
for exposure to plant protection drugs is 1.69, CI 95 percent: 1.42 - 2. Conclusion: Maternal SA is relative high and tends to increase. SA is mainly in areas exposed to toxic chemicals during the war. Factors increase the likelihood of maternal SA is histories of adverse reproductive outcomes of mothers and family
