The objective of this study was to analyze the indications of surgical treatment for Basedow's disease. The mean age of the patients was 37 years old Ninety percent (90 percent) of patients with Basedow's disease were women, and 50 percent ot the patients had medical treatment for Basedow's disease for more than 2 years. Results: Indications for corrective surgery included failure of medical treatment (50 percent), big goiter (35 percent), exophthalmos (20 percent), nodular goiter (20 percent), complications from medical treatment (20 percent), and pregnant willingness (15 percent). 95 percent of the cases underwent total thyroidectomy. Postoperatively, temporary hypocalcemia was seen in 55 percent of the patients. In conlusion, Corrective surgical therapy is one of the options that provided good long-term results with few complications.
