In elementary school, the Vietnamese language subject plays an important role in the formation and development of students’ language skills. Among these, the content of teaching punctuation is crucial for written communication. Teaching punctuation to elementary students helps them practice accurately expressing the meaning of sentences and distinguishing between different types of sentences. In this article, we investigate the current situation of punctuation usage and develop a system of exercises on punctuation errors aimed at enhancing the skills of third-grade students in Lai Vung district, Dong Thap province, to help them firmly grasp the functions of punctuation marks and apply them proficiently in practice.
