Assessing behavior in Vietnamese is expressed in two ways: direct assessment and indirect assessment. Direct assessment (especially negative assessment) has more or less bad impact on the relationship between communicative participants. Therefore, people often choose indirect assessment to avoid or reduce negative influence on the self, or the listener's face. Assessing behavior is indirectly made through expressions of behavioral languages such as behavior of exclamating, questioning, rejecting, noticing, thanking, requiring, and supposing-wishing.
