In recent years, the studies about teaching and studying English to help improve learners' oral communication skill have been popular among educational researchers in the world and Viet Nam. However, whether these innovative activities really improve students' oral communication skill in Thai Nguyen University has not been fully investigated by researchers. Therefore, this paper introduces a study on the improving freshmen's oral communication skill through pair and group communicative activities of the academic year 2014-1015. The experimental design, a method type of research was used since it involved the gathering of information about the present conditions. It described the nature of the situation as it existed at the time of the study. It aimed to determine the effectiveness of using pair and group communicative activities in improving freshman students' oral communication skills of the Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry (TUAF). The main source of data was the questionnaire and observation to be developed by the researcher.
