The study was conducted in summer-autumn and autumn - winter crop of 2013 in Dong Phu, Binh Phuoc province. The tested materials included 11 hybrid com varieties created by the Com research Institute with two controls, VN8960 and CP888. The results observed from the two experimental crop seasons show that all tested hybrid varieties had the duration ranging from 94-98 days categorized as average duration group and suitable for the summer-autumn and autumn - winter crops in Dong Phu-Binh Phuoc. The real obtained yield of the tested varieties were from 47.96 - 67.81 quintals/ha (in summer-autumn crop) and from 48.16 - 66.44 quintals/ha (in autumn-winter crop). Amongst the tested varieties, LCH9 and AG89-TB15 are two varieties that had high and stable yields in both tested seasons with 67.00 - 67.81 quintals/ha (in summer-autumn crop) and 64.76 - 66.44 quintals/ha (in autumn-winter crop) and higher than that of the two controls significantly at 95 percent level of confidence. The tested varieties were all affected by stem borers but at minor level (scored 1-2). The variety that was severely infected by the blast disease in summer-autumn crop was VS89 (8.33 percent) and in the autumn-winter crop was VS-36 and VS89 (11.46 percent), the same as control N02. The varieties, LCH9 and AG89-TB15, had the highest pest and disease tolerant capacity. The infected level of stem borers was 1 and blast disease was from 1.04-2.08 respectively.
