Objectives: To describe the clinical, pathological characteristics of oral cancer. To mentions comment the frequence appearance of p53 in oral cancer. Methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study. Subjects studied 37 patients. Results: Mean age: 54,3 the oldest patient was 81, the lowest was 16, there was not difference between male and female. The most common site of tumor is the mandibular gingivae (40,5 percent), the most common appearance is ulcer combined with wale (59,5 percent), the patient usually seek treatment at the stage II (54,1 percent). Histopathologically, squamous cell carcinoma was seen 91,9 percent, and the histological grade II was higher than others (56,8 percent). Positive percentage of p53 was 64,9 percent. Patients with stage IV and/or grade III had positive percentage of p53 was 100 percent.
