Background: Stye and chalazion is common disease and can be treated by western medicine or traditional medicine. Treating stye and chalazion by traditional medicines, including acupuncture, do not usually have side-effects. This study aims to describe the treatment results of stye and chalazion disease by acupuncture method at traditional medicine department - Thai Nguyen medical college. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conduct from March 2015 to October 2015 at traditional medicine department - Thai Nguyen medical college. Results: Almost study subjects were female (90 percent). The typical clinical symptoms: swell (96,7 percent)
pain (93,3 percent)
turn red color (93,3 percent)
discomfort (100 percent)
pus (13,3 percent). The rate of patient had stye was 76,7 percent and chalazion was 23,2 percent. Treatment by acupuncture had high rate of good treatment (86,7 percent)
the rate of decreasing disease was 13.3 percent. None of patients failed in the treatment. Conclusion: Acupuncture is an effective treatment method for stye and chalazion disease.
